Tourist & Visitor Visa

Having a travel history (such as visiting other countries like the UK, Schengen states, or the U.S.) can improve your chances, but it is not a strict requirement.

Many first-time travelers from Nigeria have successfully obtained Canadian visas with strong documentation and proof of ties. If you don’t have prior travel experience, focus on making your financial, employment, and purpose-of-travel documents very convincing.

Honesty and clarity go a long way.

Nigerians must apply online through the IRCC website or through the Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Lagos or Abuja.

The process includes filling out the visa form, uploading documents, paying the required fees, and attending a biometrics appointment. However, mistakes one might not be aware of can be very costly to your tourist application and so it is advisable to have an RCIC help with your processing.
All communication and status updates are done via IRCC online account. Once approved, your passport will be requested for visa stamping.

Typically 6 months, unless otherwise stated at the border.

Yes, by applying before your status expires.

Permanent Residence Visa

Yes, Nigerians can apply for PR without first visiting or studying in Canada. The process is entirely online through the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website. Applicants need to take an approved English test (IELTS General), get an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA), and create an Express Entry profile. If eligible, they enter a pool and may receive an Invitation to Apply based on their CRS score.

Canadian Permanent Residence is an immigration status granted to individuals who have been authorized to live and work in Canada indefinitely but are not yet citizens.

PR holders enjoy many of the same rights as citizens, including access to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities. However, they cannot vote or run for political office. Permanent residents also have to meet residency obligations to maintain their status.

It’s a selection system used by the federal government to manage PR applications for skilled workers.

On average 6–18 months depending on the stream.

Usually: language tests, ECA, passports, work proof, reference letters, police checks, medicals, and more.

Work permits

No. Some work permits (e.g., open work permits) do not require one.

Some employer-specific work permits require an LMIA. Others are LMIA-exempt depending on the program.

School Admissions & Scholarships

Once you have received your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI), you can apply for a Canadian study permit through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

You’ll need to submit your LOA, proof of financial support, a valid passport, passport-sized photos, and an explanation letter stating your study intentions. The processing time can range from a few weeks to several months depending on your country, so it’s best to apply early.

Canadian institutions usually have three main intakes: Fall (September), Winter (January), and Summer (May).

The Fall intake is the most popular and offers the widest range of courses. It’s advisable to start your application at least 8 to 12 months before your intended start date to allow enough time for document preparation, admission decisions, and study permit processing.
Deadlines differ across institutions, so applicants should always verify with the specific university’s website.

Study Permits

Yes — if your study permit includes the “may work off-campus” condition and you are enrolled full-time at a DLI.

Processing varies by country but generally ranges from 4–12 weeks.

Yes — your spouse may be eligible for an open work permit, and your children may receive study or visitor status.

Visa Refusal

We can assess the refusal letter, review your previous application, and propose the best next step — reconsideration, restoration, or a stronger fresh application.

No consultant can guarantee approval. We guarantee professionalism, honesty, and the strongest possible application.

Fees & Payments

Credit/debit cards, e-transfer, or bank transfer.

Professional fees and government fees are separate. Government fees are paid directly to IRCC.

Family Sponshorship

Spouses, common-law partners, dependent children, and in some cases, parents or grandparents.

Around 8–12 months for most regions.

OTHER QUESTIONS

Yes — you can appoint a new representative at any time using IMM 5476.

Check their license number on the official public registry.
